A semester course intended as a part of the 10th grade science sequence. The composition and dynamics of planet Earth including the atmosphere, geological processes, natural resources, oceans, and weather concepts will be explored. The solar system and the universe will also be studied to help us establish our unique and fragile frame of existence. Lab activities will reinforce course concepts.


First semester biology will cover topics in biochemistry, cells, and genetics. Daily lessons and laboratory work will include the use of microscopes, models, and investigations.  


Second semester biology will cover topics in classification, human anatomy & physiology, evolution, and ecology. Daily lessons and laboratory work will include models, investigations and specimen dissections.
